Soulutions to Problems
My neighborhoods most biggest problem would be robbery, because the theft issues is gives this neighborhood a not well reputation from peoples items being stolen or entire houses being broken into.
People that usually break into the houses sell the items at the flee market to others guaranteeing that the items stolen will not be found.
My proposal
I believe that children should be taught not to steal at an early age. In school, the teacher has more effective methods to communicate this message. If a child learns the reasons why he shouldn't take away things that are important to others at a young age. He can develop those life skills as he grows up. Most people that steal in my neighborhood just don't know any better and just need to more educated why they shouldn't steal.
The children should be taught about steeling at certain ages. For example, a 5 year old should be taught why not to steal in a more friendly way, while a 10 year old needs to know the full consequences due to them almost entering adolescences.
A child needs to know the following
Why is stealing bad to not just you but others as well
Why shouldn't you steal and what is the long term effects
What happens to your brain as you keep on performing negative things
What will others see you as
The consequences of stealing and how its getting harder.
What will happen to those you stole from
Why should you think before you act
What influences stealing?
These skills can help a child to think before they do something dumb to get themselves in trouble or hurt someone else.
These skills can prevent and explain to children why stealing will be bad for others and yourself. Many more kids will enter school so this would be best taught there, Where they spend most their time at. Also a pro to being taught at a young age is easier than teaching a bunch of rebellious teens that might not like being told what to do or like being lectured, this also is a plus targeting young children.
Others proposals include more neighborhood watch for suspicious activity's and felons of all sort. This not only might make your homes safer but to al others as well. Also there should be more security near schools or personal security cams for more precaution at night. More security would mean more safety for kids, which is important.
These ideas can also apply to other neighborhoods with just as high crime or higher theft than McKinley Park. The idea of educating people at homes about stealing have been thought of since the old days but it is more effective to teach kids in a learning environment than maybe at home where the parents maybe under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This will not apply to every parent but because the child's friends will be there too. It might encourage the child to pay more attention to the lesson at hand.
